The Opportunity

 

We're looking for a hands on Plant Operator / Electrician to keep our Recycled Water Treatment Plant in Fairfield running at full steam. If you're a tradesperson who likes getting stuck into real work – fault-finding, maintaining equipment, and keeping critical infrastructure humming – this could be the role for you.

What you'll be responsible for

 

  • Running the plant – keeping the recycled water treatment facility operating at its best
  • Fault-finding and fixing – diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues and getting them sorted
  • Planned maintenance – scheduled servicing, repairs, and major equipment overhauls
  • Monitoring systems – using SCADA to keep an eye on operations and respond to alerts
  • Water sampling and basic lab testing – making sure water quality hits the mark
  • Logging your work – keeping accurate records in the maintenance management system
  • Managing contractors on site – overseeing external trades and handling permits to work
  • After-hours on-call rotation – shared roster, remote plant supervision included
  • Working safely – following our safety standards every single day, no shortcuts

What you'll need to be successful

 

  • Electrical trade qualification (essential)
  • Experience in water treatment, utilities, or industrial plant operations (a big plus)
  • Solid background in electrical systems and general plant maintenance
