The Opportunity

Working in a close-knit, motivated team, you’ll be responsible for the collection and disposal of waste from our valued clients' sites. You will be operating medium rigid vehicles and our latest equipment around local municipalities, where no two days are the same.

 

Role information includes:

  • Based in Spreyton, Tasmania
  • Permanent full time position 
  • Monday to Friday roster with occasional weekend work (overtime available, etc.)
  • Working in a friendly, close knit team environment
  • Reservist Leave for ex-defense applicants


In your day-to-day activities, you’ll comply with, and promote, Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies and Site Safe Operating Procedures. And in the long run, you’ll contribute to a sustainable future for Australia.
 

You’ll need:

  • Previous experience in a driving position
  • A Valid MR Licence (HR licence an advantage)
  • Experience within the waste industry is desirable
  • Integrity and a positive attitude 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal) 
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skillsStrong safety focus with a proactive approach to improving safety and risk management 
  • Motivation to learn and grow within a team environment

    Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll work closely with a small team, as well as various suppliers and contractors. And you’ll learn from them, as much as they learn from you.

In addition to operating the plant, you’ll play a key role in measuring and reporting the facility’s output, maintaining a robust safety culture and identifying more efficient ways of working that don’t compromise safety or quality.

    In this role, you’ll be trained across a number of concrete skills for the job in hand. Many of our team leads have continued to progress their career with us, moving into management positions.
