We seek an experienced Engineer to join our Projects, Technical and Assets Group (PTAG). The position is based in Veolia’s Ellerslie Corporate Head Office.
 

 

You will work with various stakeholders on assigned projects to formulate design concepts and generate design deliverables for various stages of assigned projects. The deliverables expected can be in the form of an engineering report, scope of work, drawing or method statement etc. The focus of the work will be in the area of water/wastewater projects delivery, however the work of the NZ PTAG team, and therefore that of the Design Engineer, will vary according to current contractual and client needs. 
 

Key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Generating concept drawings and models for new projects
  • Participating in project resource estimation process
  • Leasing with customers, suppliers and project team members to developing design solutions
  • Participating in the compilation of basic process design data 
  • Generating 3D models, fabrication and construction drawings.
  • Producing Bill of Materials (BOMs)
  • Assisting with project procurement by obtaining quotes for new projects and variations to existing projects.
  • Verifying that contractor or vendor design submissions comply to design requirements
  • Conducting site visits for surveying, Audits and QC activities
  • Contributing in SID’s and constructability studies
  • Managing CAD Licences and subcontractors
  • Maintaining design libraries and ensuring designs are to the latest standards
  • Providing  CAD support for project engineers and project managers
     

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree 
  • 3 years experience in water or wastewater processes desirable
  • Proven design experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and office software
  • The ability to work across all the main engineering disciplines (mechanical, civil, process)
