A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented, experienced leader to join Veolia as a Depot Supervisor.  Reporting to the State Transport Manager, you will be responsible to ensure our customers are provided with a total service solution whilst maintaining efficient, cost effective and safe operations in the Geraldton Region

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership, coaching and mentoring of employees including company drivers, subcontractors and the operations and logistics teams to foster a high performing, accountable team culture across the region.
  • Maintain and develop effective relationships internally and externally with key stakeholders, customers and third party suppliers.
  • Liaising with major customers for operational solutions
  • Collaborating with the Sales department to drive business growth and continually improve business performance.
  • Live and breathe safety; a continual focus on driving initiatives and outcomes that focus on the well-being and safety of our employees and others in the workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory OH&S Legislation including Chain of Responsibility 
  • People management including industrial and employee relations.
  • Positively implementing change initiatives.  
  • Providing environmental services solutions and delivery.
  • Fleet management including implementing strategies to improve asset utilisation.
  • Driving operational performance including cost management in accordance with budgets.
  • Business/process analysis and improvement by maximising growth and profitability
  • Financial management – Compile and interpret financial information and data, drawing analysis to assist with driving improved operations.
About You: To be considered for the role, you must have:
  • Previous experience in managing, developing and influencing team outcomes
  • A focus on innovation, best practice and customer service.
  • Strong ability to be flexible and problem solve in a busy operational environment where no two days are the same.
  • Profit centre management – financial and cost management skills
  • Superior communication, interpersonal skills and effective management of employee relations, including resourcing, performance management, change management and employee engagement principles
  • Demonstrated ability to strategically plan and action effective and efficient business targets
  • Strong time management skills.
  • An understanding  of transport and logistics services would be an advantage
  • This role will require travel to various customers sites and Veolia depots where required and a valid driver's license is essential.
