The Opportunity

As our Resource Recovery Customer Sales Manager in Victoria, you'll lead high-profile tendering processes, craft innovative commercial proposals and build lasting relationships with key decision-makers across State and Local Government sectors. What you'll be responsible for

  • Develop and implement robust sales strategies targeting State and Local Government sectors, driving increased market share, profitability and revenue while forecasting and managing significant opportunity pipelines to achieve targets.

  • Lead the commercial process for major tendering, delivering competitive and stand-out submissions, developing commercial models and adhering to internal bid governance procedures within expected timeframes.

  • Utilise solution-based selling techniques to pursue and secure new business relationships, while identifying opportunities to cross-sell solutions across the broader business portfolio.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across prospective and existing client organisations, leading contract negotiations to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes while minimising commercial risk.

  • Monitor client satisfaction levels through a continuous improvement framework, ensuring service delivery consistently exceeds expectations and base revenue is protected.

  • Collaborate closely with Operations Managers and the General Manager, providing regular commercial updates, ensuring commercial promises are operationally viable and driving compliant use of sales management platforms such as Salesforce.

  • Champion a culture of safety and compliance across all commercial activities, conducting risk assessments and ensuring all operations align with the company's "Always Safe" core values, zero harm commitment and legislative requirements.

What you'll need to be successful

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in waste management sales or a related commercial field

  • Strong understanding of the waste management industry, including products, services, and regulatory frameworks.

  • A degree or post-graduate qualification in Business, Sales Management, or a relevant field is highly desirable or relevant industry experience 

  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence

  • Proficiency in Google Suite (or Microsoft equivalent) and CRM platforms (Salesforce desirable)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with Government and executive-level stakeholders.
