The Opportunity


Veolia is seeking an Operator / Maintainer to join their team in Chinchilla. Within this role you'll be responsible for the operation and maintenance of a Water Treatment Plant (WTP) servicing the QGC operations. This is a shift work role that offers real variety — from hands on plant maintenance and fault finding through to laboratory analysis, SCADA monitoring and mentoring fellow operators.

No two days are the same, and your contribution directly supports the delivery of safe, high quality water to one of Queensland's most important resource projects.

What you'll be responsible for

 

  • Operating and monitoring plant equipment, processes and systems to meet operational targets
  • Performing preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance on plant assets
  • Troubleshooting and rectifying equipment and process faults and alarms
  • Responding to and resolving SCADA/DCS alarms
  • Conducting laboratory testing, analysis and sample collection
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports on plant performance
  • Assisting with plant optimisation, commissioning and reporting activities
  • Providing training and mentoring to other operators as your experience grows
  • Upholding all health, safety, environmental and quality policies at all times

What you'll need to be successful

 

  • Trade qualification
  • Experience in plant or water treatment operations highly regarded
  • Knowledge and understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment
