The Opportunity
We are looking for an individual to join our Wastewater team in Central Hawke's Bay, who has the qualifications along with strong experience in the water industry. However, we will consider someone who is looking to begin a career in the water industry, in which case Veolia will provide thorough training to set you up for success.
Within this role you will join a team of operational professionals in providing the operations and maintenance of the reticulation networks and associated infrastructure in accordance with all operating procedures and compliance criteria, with a focus on Veolia’s safety, quality and efficiency outcomes.
A current valid driver’s licence is required.

What you'll be responsible for
- Provide support to Veolia and Central Hawkes Bay District Council management.
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to the Wastewater Treatment team including priority setting.
- Contribute to achievement of all wastewater treatment performance targets.
- Advise and assist with operations and maintenance of Wastewater treatment processes systems.
- Participate in the development and implementation of wastewater quality and environmental improvement programs.
- Participate in a operator level on-call roster.
What you'll need to be successful
- You will require a NZQA or equivalent professional or trade qualification in Water and/or Wastewater network construction or operations and maintenance.
- Experience in a similar role, and knowledge of water and wastewater infrastructure, systems, processes and standards.
- Understanding of wastewater treatment operations, maintenance activities and criticality of operations requirements.
- Understanding of resource consents and their criticality.
- An understanding of SCADA systems.
