The Opportunity


Veolia is seeking a Lead Mechanical Asset Management and Reliability Engineer to join our water team based in Brisbane 4000. In this role you will play a pivotal role in driving maintenance excellence, asset reliability, and safety across two major water treatment facilities supporting the Queensland Curtis LNG (QCLNG) project.

What you'll be responsible for

 

  • Lead the Mechanical Asset management to improve safety, asset reliability, and plant availability.
  • Provide technical leadership to the maintenance team, and guide best practices for asset equipment care and renewal using a risk based approach.
  • Engage with site operators, maintainers, subcontractors, and engineers to coordinate and deliver asset management and project management activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement through predictive maintenance programs (oil/vibration analysis), root cause analysis (RCA), and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
  • Act as subject matter expert signing off on changes impacting plant mechanical asset management.
  • Support process safety, barrier management, and staff training in safety fundamentals.
  • Review engineering documentation and participate in peer reviews to ensure sound engineering judgement and principles.

 

What you'll need to be successful

 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification 
  • Experience in operational plant environments (water treatment/gas/power preferred)
  • RPEQ will be highly regarded
  • Strong knowledge of reliability principles, project management and asset management
