The Opportunity

Join Veolia's Resource Recovery team as a Landfill Engineer and take a pivotal role in managing critical infrastructure across Queensland's landfill portfolio. Reporting to the General Manager Resource Recovery, you'll work on meaningful projects that support sustainable waste management while developing your engineering expertise in a dynamic, growing sector.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Design, procure, construct, and commission landfill infrastructure across 6 QLD assets, including cell development, capping, leachate systems, and gas management, with full project and contractor management

  • Develop master plans, closure strategies, conduct airspace modelling, and ensure environmental and safety compliance across managed sites

  • Control project budgets and schedules, estimate costs, track expenditure, and provide financial reports to stakeholders

  • Maintain effective relationships with site managers, customers, Veolia teams, and external partners

What you'll need to be successful

  • Degree in Civil/Environmental (or Geotechnical / Chemical / Mining / Mechanical) Engineering or similar related qualification.

  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience as a practising engineer in the required engineering field(s), with experience in landfill engineering desirable - graduates will be considered

  • Formal Project Management experience

  • Valid Driver’s Licence
