The Opportunity

Veolia ANZ is seeking a Plant & Equipment Maintainer to support our industrial services contract with GFG Alliance in Whyalla, SA. The role is based at the Whyalla Steelworks and will be responsible for maintaining all plant and equipment on-site.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Maintaining and overseeing all plant and equipment onsite, and supporting the local Veolia branch.
  • Ensure that all plant and equipment is maintained to meet Veolia, safety, environmental and contractual obligations.
  • Work closely with the Operations team to ensure that all plant and equipment is optimised to full capability.
  • Use of our internal asset management system (VAMS).
  • Manage deliveries for stock & materials.
  • Work closely with the Planning and Scheduling team and external service providers to monitor and report on asset integrity and working conditions.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure all maintenance and service works are completed to reduce downtime.
  • Manage resources, tools and equipment to maintain operations including sufficient spares parts (stock control of critical components) for plant and equipment.

What you'll need to be successful

  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical/mobile equipment in an industrial environment with no less than 5 years experience.
  • Current HR truck licence
  • A working knowledge and understanding of safety and environmental compliance.
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have a high regard for customer focus and safety.
  • Able to work unsupervised and use problem solving skills effectively.
  • Technical/trade qualifications are highly desirable.
