The Opportunity

Veolia has a unique, newly created position for an experienced Bid Estimator to join our fast-growing Remediation Services team. Based out of our Pyrmont office you will be responsible for estimating major remediation projects nationwide.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Provide a high level of estimation and tender services to support major projects in the Remediation Services space.
  • Negotiating supplier agreements nationally including preferred rates, to ensure a competitive edge in the bid submission process.
  • Comprehensive review of tender documents to understand the scope of works, intent of contract, specifications and any special conditions.
  • Effectively plan tenders to ensure delivery within specified timeframe and management of deadlines.
  • Provide leadership, direction and expertise into the estimation, quotation and tendering of works by nominating preferred rehabilitation methodologies and delivery models.
  • Establish effective, robust, mutually accountable relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, suppliers and partners.
  • Assist in additional work requests as part of existing contracts.

What you'll need to be successful

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Civil or Environmental highly regarded), Construction or Surveying.
  • A minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience as a Bid Estimator in the civil or construction sectors.
  • Experience working on projects and tenders of varying complexity and size.
  • A strong understanding of Quality, WHS and Environmental Management systems.
  • Be able to confidently manage strict deadlines and competing priorities.
  • A high level of attention to detail to manage tender documentation, preparation and submission.
  • Establish and grow strong stakeholder relationships.
