The Opportunity

 

Veolia is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our Central Victoria team, overseeing water quality across our Bendigo, Ballarat 3350 and CFA contracts.

 

You'll play a critical role in ensuring our drinking water and wastewater operations meet all contractual, health, environmental, and legislative requirements while driving process optimisation and innovation across multiple sites.

 

This is an excellent opportunity to provide technical leadership, mentor operations teams, and contribute to business development projects with a global leader in water management.

What you'll be responsible for

 

  • Ensure water and wastewater quality meets contractual and regulatory standards
  • Optimise processes through data analysis and performance monitoring
  • Develop and implement process control strategies for treatment plants
  • Lead process reviews, investigations, and incident response
  • Champion Green Up Net Zero initiatives to reduce chemical and energy usage
  • Provide technical support for business development, plant designs, and upgrades
  • Conduct process modelling and technical reviews of treatment facilities
  • Mentor operations and technical teams
  • Participate in Quality Management Systems and certification audits
  • Contribute to budgeting, capital planning, and industry engagement

What you'll need to be successful

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in chemical engineering or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in water or wastewater treatment operations
  • Sound knowledge of Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and relevant environmental legislation
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills
