The Opportunity
Join Veolia as a Senior Financial Analyst - Environmental Services, where you'll play a pivotal leadership role within our finance team at Arndell Park/Wetherill Park. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support the NSW Financial Manager while acting as a designated team leader among finance analyst peers. You'll be at the forefront of financial analysis, variance reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations, while also mentoring junior analysts and contributing to strategic budgeting and forecasting initiatives.
In the Finance Manager's absence, you'll step into a leadership capacity, making this an ideal role for an ambitious finance professional with tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance who is pursuing or interested in commencing CA/CPA certification. This role would particularly suit someone with good audit experience.

What you'll be responsible for

Lead and mentor finance analyst team members, reviewing their work and problem-solving issues before Finance Manager review, while stepping into the Finance Manager role during their absence

Conduct financial analysis and variance reporting, ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are accurate, complete, and meet accounting standards while delivering timely financial reports in accordance with Veolia deadlines

Support budgeting and forecasting processes by developing and reviewing assumptions for business planning to maximize value creation for the function

Develop management and compliance reporting while ensuring all administrative requirements are addressed in a timely and accurate manner in line with policy and procedure

Actively engage with process improvements and assist with implementing processes to meet the business's information needs in a timely manner
What you'll need to be successful

Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance
-
Part qualified or looking to commence CA/CPA (preferred)

Demonstrated work experience, accounting experience will be highly regarded
-
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of P&L drivers of performance

Relevant audit experience highly regarded
