The Opportunity
Veolia is seeking a Business Improvement & Performance Lead to join our Environmental Services team in Arndell Park & Chullora Office. Reporting to the NSW Education & Compliance Manager, this role is central to driving operational excellence across our Sydney Municipal business unit. You will be responsible for optimising systems, implementing innovative technologies, and analysing performance data to support strategic decision-making. This position offers the opportunity to lead process improvements, manage key stakeholder relationships, and contribute to the successful delivery of projects that enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

What you'll be responsible for
- Provide project support services, ensuring delivery against business and contractual requirements
- Act as primary liaison with clients, councils, and statutory authorities, maintaining strong relationships and effective communication
- Prepare comprehensive reports, proposals, and applications for management, councils, and government stakeholders
- Analyse operational and customer service data across municipal contracts to monitor performance, identify risks, and recommend strategic improvements
- Develop performance dashboards, KPI monitoring tools, and reporting frameworks to track and enhance service delivery
- Review proposals, reports, and council information systems to ensure accuracy and identify optimisation opportunities
- Ensure all administrative and reporting requirements are completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with policies and contractual obligations
- Identify and implement system improvements, process efficiencies, and innovation opportunities across operations
- Represent Veolia professionally to government bodies, statutory authorities, business groups, and community stakeholders
What you'll need to be successful
- Proven experience in the waste industry with strong capabilities in business systems, data analysis, report writing, and performance improvement
- Extensive background in project management with understanding of system capabilities and diverse project portfolios
- Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to clarify objectives, manage time, resolve issues, and make informed decisions
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain productive, ongoing relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and engage at all levels
- High level of IT competency including advanced proficiency in Microsoft and google products and project management tools
- Strong knowledge and understanding of WHS legislation and regulations relevant to the waste and municipal services sector
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously
- Current driver's licence
