The Opportunity
 

Veolia is seeking a Senior Electrical/Instrumentation Technician to join our Operations team. Within this role you will be based out of Adelaide, providing field services to remote communities in South Australia. This is an exciting leadership opportunity to manage a small team while providing specialised electrical expertise across our water treatment facilities.


About the Role 
 

As Senior Electrical/Instrumentation Technician, you will lead a team of maintenance technicians while delivering hands on electrical and instrumentation maintenance for water and wastewater treatment plants. You'll be responsible for complex troubleshooting, system upgrades, and maintaining critical infrastructure while ensuring compliance and safety standards.

What you’ll be responsible for
 

 

  • Lead complex electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities
  • Troubleshoot SCADA systems and control systems
  • Implement electrical system upgrades and improvements
  • Maintain calibration records and ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations
  • Provide technical guidance to team members
  • Lead and coordinate a team of maintenance technicians
  • Liaise with customers and clients in the planning and execution of work
  • Create and manage work schedules and emergency rosters
  • Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety briefings
  • Identify training needs and develop team capabilities
  • Manage work delegation and quality assurance
  • Monitor plant performance and maintain KPIs
  • Manage maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • On call requirements, with occasional need to respond to emergencies (although infrequent)
     

What You’ll Need to be Successful
 

  • Trade qualification in Electrical/Instrumentation
  • Proven experience in industrial electrical/instrumentation maintenance
  • Experience in water/wastewater treatment operations
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and industrial controls
