Title:  Maintenance Technician

The Opportunity
 

Veolia is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team in South Australia, based out of Adelaide 5000 and providing field services to remote communities in South Australia. 
 

This role will provide critical operational and maintenance services to help ensure a high level of service is provided to our customers across our Water Treatment Plants, Wastewater Treatment Plants, Pipe Networks, and associated equipment.

What you’ll be responsible for
 

  • Undertake the maintenance of equipment ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Develop and implement asset plans for the efficient and effective operation and maintenance of plant equipment and infrastructure.
  • Manage critical spares inventory, ensuring availability and timely replacement to minimise downtime.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors for specialised maintenance and repair tasks as required.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and implement strategies to reduce operational expenses without compromising quality or compliance.
  • Prepare and submit KPI reports highlighting plant performance, efficiency, and areas for improvement.
  • Attend regular toolbox meetings, performance meetings, and other internal meetings.
  • Prepare and submit reports on operations and maintenance activities to clients and attend client meetings.
  • Provide training and guidance to local Aboriginal support workers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Actively participate in building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • On call requirements, with occasional need to respond to emergencies (although infrequent).

     

What You’ll Need to be Successful
 

  • A strong focus on safety culture and a desire to make a difference to the services received in remote communites
  • Experience water / wastewater operations and maintenance is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and make autonomous decisions
